Mission Statement:
The Mission of Iowa District West is "Connecting,
Resourcing, Optimizing, Partnering,
and Serving with the member congregations for the
extension of the Gospel within our communities,
throughout the District, and into all the world."
District Vision for the Future:
In 2000 the Board of Directors adopted "A Harvest of Joy"
as its vision for the future of the District using the following verse
from God's Word as its theme:
For the LORD your God will bless
you in all your harvest, and in all the work of your hands, and your joy
will be complete. (Deut. 16:15)
The vision of "A Harvest of Joy" consists of five parts:
1) Joy In Ministry
Philippians 1:4-5 4 “In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray
with joy 5 because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day
until now.” Areas included in this vision are:

Relationships between congregations,
District and Synod

Leadership development

Worker skills

Support for church professionals and
congregations

Team ministry enhancement
2. Joy In The Journey
John
15:11 "I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your
joy may be complete."
Psalm 16:11 "You have made known to me the path of life; you will fill
me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right
hand."
3. Joy In
Sharing/Serving
Philippians
2:2 "then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same
love, being one in spirit and purpose."
4. Joy In Modeling
Philippians
3:17; 4:8 "Join with others in following my example, brothers, and take
note of those who live according to the pattern we gave you."
4:8 "Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is
right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if
anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things."
5. Joy In Salvation
Rev. 7:9
"After this I looked and there before me was a great multitude that no
one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing
before the throne and in front of the Lamb. They were wearing white
robes and were holding palm branches in their hands. 10 And they cried
out in a loud voice: “Salvation belongs to our God, who sits on the
throne, and to the Lamb."
Luke 15:7,10,24 "I tell you that in the same way there will be more
rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine
righteous persons who do not need to repent. . . . 10 In the same way, I
tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over
one sinner who repents, . . . 24 For this son of mine was dead and is
alive again; he was lost and is found. So they began to celebrate."
