Greetings from Pasadena!
Another great day of decorating floats. Most of our team
decorated the Lutheran Hour float today. It was amazing!!
The float is BEAUTIFUL! We enjoyed working with Christmas
red carnations, roses, carnations, etc. The colors are a
feast for the eyes. We worked hard from 8-3. Everyone is
really enjoying the experiences. We meet many people and
had great conversations with people from across the US who
came together to decorate the floats and to proclaim the
love of Jesus through the float. We enjoy working on other
floats too, but it is especially special to work on the
Lutheran Hour float. Part of our group spent some time
vialing roses in the flower tent while others spent the day
on scaffolding on the Los Angeles float.
We came back to the hotel happy, but tired. We rested from
4-6, had supper and then a meeting. There is lots of
laughter and fun as we shared POWS and WOWS of the day. On
a mission trip it is always good to be flexible. Today as
we left we were asked if we’d be willing to come back at
11:00 PM if needed to help complete the floats. We agreed
to contact them at 7 to see how the floats were
progressing. The Lutheran Hour float will probably be
finished by 11 but there are others that the Petal Pushers
agreed to decorate that are not finished.
Normally, the judging was at noon on the 31st but
tomorrow the judging is at 7:30 AM….Why? I am not sure.
So, 19 of us are heading back to Pasadena to finish up the
decorating of the floats. The Iowa group has a reputation
among the leaders here as having a great work ethic J More
details tomorrow.
OK. Time for a short nap before leaving. Will send photos
tomorrow.
God’s blessings and thank you for your prayers. Ellie Menz |
