Fan Into Flame
Many congregations and member missionaries heard about
“Fan Into Flame” at the District “Mission Ignition” events.
Please consider the opportunities to join this LCMS Mission
initiative in the Easter and Pentecost seasons of 2009.
Contact District Missions Executive Assistant for more
information and to receive additional support and direction
from our “Fan Into Flame” consultants.
Lutheran Summer Music, the
national, month-long music academy for choir, band and
orchestra students in grades 8-12, is now accepting
applications for 2009. This summer, LSM will be held at
Lutheran College (Decorah, IA) from June 21 to July 19. To

Mission Trip Support
Thanks to District LWML mission grants rostered church
workers and LWML members are eligible for one time grants
for mission trips. Contact Ellie Menz

or 515-386-8420) for more information. The summer 2009 Los
Angeles mission experience is scheduled for July 7-20. The
Registration deadline is April 1, 2009. Information and
registration forms are available at the District Wet site.
Golfing Day for Pastors!
A pastor’s golf outing has been arranged for Monday, May
18, 2009 at the Ida Grove Country Club. Competition will
begin at 9:30 a.m. with a nine-hole two-team best ball
(teams will be drawn from a hat; the subsequent nine holds
will be a medalist competition). Cost is $20.00 per person
which includes golf (with cart) and lunch. Register with

by May 15, 2009.
“Joy In Serving” District
Convention—June 21-24, 2009
|If your congregation has not yet nominated a lay
delegate to the Convention, please get that information to
the District Office quickly. Convention delegates will
receive the official workbook in mid-May. “Joy In Serving”
will become a hands-on reality as Convention attendees
participate in mission service projects on Tuesday evening
of the Convention. |
