Seminary Recruitment
Rev. Tom Zimmerman, Associate Director of Admissions, Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne, will be visiting Iowa District West in early May. Connections can be made at these locations: Monday, May 4 (4-7 p.m.) at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Council Bluffs; Tuesday, May 5 (3-7 p.m.) at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Carroll; and Wednesday, May 6 (10 a.m.—1 p.m.) at St.Paul Lutheran Church, Fort Dodge. Men of all ages are invited as are their wives, children, or fiancées. Women interested in the deaconess program are also invited. Conferences are individual and informal. Reservations are not needed.

Organ and Church Musician Workshop
Grace Lutheran Church, Wayne, Nebraska will host a workshop for organists and church musicians on Saturday, September 29, 2009. Local Pastor Carl Lilienkamp will host the event. Pastor Nathan Sherrill, St. Paul, Council Bluffs and Dr. J. Gordon Christensen, St. Paul’s Director of Music, will be presenters. More information is available from Grace Lutheran Church.

Golfing Day for Pastors!
A pastor’s golf outing has been arranged for Monday, May 18, 2009 at the Ida Grove Country Club. Competition will begin at 9:30 a.m. with a nine-hole two-team best ball (teams will be drawn from a hat; the subsequent nine holds will be a medalist competition). Cost is $20.00 per person which includes golf (with cart) and lunch. Register with Rev. Don Winterrowd (stpaulig@netllc.net or 712-364-2918) by May 15, 2009.

Iowa State Mission Hearts Scholarship
Memorial Lutheran Church, Ames has two $500 scholarships (provided by International Student Ministry) for incoming Lutheran freshmen. In celebration of the financial assistance the recipients will volunteer with international student ministry. Interested students and/or their families can contact Memorial Lutheran Church.

Mission Experiences
Mission experiences are available through Iowa District West (IOWAY), LCMS World Missions and MOST (Mission Opportunities Short Term). MOST Is a recognized service organization of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod. Medical, dental, eye glass, construction, VBS, and outreach teams travel throughout the world. More information is available at the Web site: www.mostministries.org. The fields are white for harvest.
